Severin Falkenrath

Severin Falkenrath discovered the Ravana Ruins privately before 1282 and orchestrated the entire arc of the Avari’s rise and collapse. He devised the plan to distribute the Curse of Ravana among multiple hosts, then kill each one to consolidate all five shares. He killed four of the five Avari but never obtained the fifth share.

Background

Born to a family of minor merchants in Old Darkwood. Survived his early years through manipulation and opportunism. Met Lucien Alvaro de Castillon at Bellum Castle in 1233.

Discovery of the Ravana Ruins

At an undocumented point before 1282, Severin discovered the Ravana Ruins privately and attempted to absorb the full energy alone. The attempt nearly killed him and left him permanently scarred. He concluded the energy had to be distributed across multiple hosts before it could be safely concentrated. He told no one.

In 1282, he brought all five Avari to the ruins, presenting the energy as a gift. It distributed automatically — one share per person. Severin began executing his plan from that point.

Severin spent the following centuries attempting to extract Elias Castillon’s entrenched share from the earth. Each attempt caused progressive environmental damage to Luxemburg.

In 1933 he founded Neutron NRG under the name S. Falken, operating through proxies due to advanced physical deterioration. At some point in the 21st century, a final extraction attempt pulled him into the ground. He fused with the land. His four shares merged with Elias’s entrenched share.

Physical Deterioration

Each share of the Curse of Ravana accelerates physical degradation. Severin held four shares for over 600 years. By the 21st century his appearance bore no resemblance to his original form. He operated exclusively through intermediaries.

Notes

The scarring from his solo Ravana Ruins attempt predates the Avari era. It is the only physical evidence that his plan was premeditated from before the ritual.
